FINANCIAL BUSINESS CONTROLLER

For one of our clients, a global leader in fueling technology we are researching :

Financial Business Controller

The role involves partnering closely with key operational leads both locally and globally, providing high-quality data and analysis to support management decisions. You will work with internal stakeholders and external tax agencies and government tax auditors to manage tax audits and ensure compliance with tax law, statutory Italy GAAP, and tax legislation.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Lead the preparation of the annual budget and financial forecasts for the entire P&L and Balance Sheet, ensuring high accuracy and detailed understanding of operational backlogs, funnels, risks, and opportunities.
  • Provide accurate financial reporting and analysis, including commentary on month-end results, mid-month performance, and quarterly forecasts, analyzing variances and reporting to the finance team at regional, European, and global levels.
  • Partner with the R&D leader to manage R&D reporting, cost management, capitalization schedules, and return metrics. Assist the Global Director of FP&A with R&D process improvement.
  • Manage local and statutory tax compliance, including VAT, Direct Taxes (IRES-IRAP and Transfer Price), and Indirect Taxes. Partner with corporate tax teams as needed and ensure proper documentation and controls for fiscal transactions.
  • Share responsibility for month-end journals and other deliverables with the Shared Service Center (SSC). Continuously improve the quality of financial information and manage the account and cost center structure with accurate entries to the General Ledger.
  • Support or monitor operational control processes impacting financials, such as inventory management, warranty returns, and receivables.

Education and Experience :

  • Qualified or final stage part-qualified ACA, ACCA, or CIMA.
  • 5-10+ years of experience in finance, accounting, or business controlling.
  • Experience in a manufacturing company and partnership with R&D departments.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of VAT, Direct and Indirect Taxes legislation, statutory Italy GAAP, and electronic invoicing requirements.
  • Skills :

  • Fluent in Italian and English, both written and spoken.
  • Strong analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Excel and experienced with HFM (consolidation system).
  • Workplace : Florence, Italy
