In December 2021, Invaio has also opened a legal entity in Italy with operational units in Puglia.Position OverviewWe are looking for a highly motivated Agronomist for our team in Puglia to lead and execute research projects across product development and pre-commercial with possibly some involvement in early-stage development products. The position is based near Brindisi and reports to the Senior Field Development Manager.Roles and ResponsibilitiesOrganize, follow and manage research trials conducted either directly by Invaio or through CRO (testing and / or collaboration with research institutes). Provide input on protocols, domain knowledge, and evaluation of results- Work with other functional and research teams to advance project objectives and meet the timelines- Support the commercial team for the launch of new products / solutions- Actively interact with local market influencers (farmer associations, farmer unions) to facilitate the market access to Invaio solutions- Assist with conducting greenhouse experiments to develop internal knowledge of new technologies performance in a variety of perennial and annual cropsExperience and CredentialsDegree in Agricultural Science or diploma as Agricultural Technician with a minimum of 5 years of relevant working experience- Technical knowledge that spans from microbiology, entomology and plant biology to farmer practices- In-depth Know-How and understanding of local agricultural cropping systems, pests and practices, with focus on tree crops (olive, citrus)- Proven track record of establishing field trials concepts, plot demonstration techniques and statistical analysis- Curious about farmer practices, ability to challenge and propose changes for new farmer practices and / or solutions to current issues- Experience in successfully establishing relationships with Research Institutes, Universities, CROs, grower associations and other important players within the agriculture spaceQualifications (Requirements)Proficient in English, both verbally and written- Highly motivated and driven self-starter who feels at ease with working independently while managing multiple projects at the same time and collaborating amongst disciplines- Excellent communication and presentation skills, capable of conveying technical information in a clear and thorough manner.
